Traci + Ian // Northeast Engagement Weekend

Traci + Ian // Northeast Engagement Weekend

This was a destination engagement session for me, not for this couple (since they live here). I had the opportunity to have a combined working and playing trip to visit my friends in the Northeast last weekend. We traveled around taking photos, eating and drinking our way through key spots in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. It was a great opportunity to both hang out with my long time friend, Traci and her man, Ian. I could not be more excited for them and their upcoming wedding in October. They met through a mutual friend and the rest is history as they say. They will be marrying in Kansas City, Missouri where I will be the personal attendant. It is always fun to get to enjoy weddings from a guest or wedding party member perspective instead of working them from behind a camera. So I can’t wait to see what is in store for these two in the future. :)

Sienna [1 year]

Oh how cute is this little girl?  My niece, Sienna really is so sweet.  She will be 1 year old very soon and I can't believe it has almost been a year.  This Minnie Mouse theme is just adorable.  I feel like Sienna channeled her inner Minnie.

Sienna is pretty much always smiling...except for the end of this session. Balloons are pretty scary...poor girl!   I can't wait to celebrate her one year birthday very soon!

Briley Family

Welcome back!  I am doing good on my blog mission so far...I am blogging my first official session of the year.  Yay Me!   I will keep up with this.  I hope you LOVE these as much as I do.

The first session of the year, was appropriately an outdoor winter session for the Briley family.  They are about to gain an additional member...a baby girl and I can't wait to meet her in a few more weeks!! But until that time, it was fun to do a wintery maternity session while it wasn't too cold outside. I look forward to many more sessions with the soon-to-be family of four!

Love,  Adrienne cute is this family??  I am very excited to meet the newest member of the family!

New Year, New Adrienne Kay Photography!!

New Year, New Adrienne Kay Photography!!

I want to start off by saying thank you for checking out my new and improved website.  I have to say that it has been a long time coming.  I have been wanting to revamp my branding and website for several years.  I know it seems hard to believe.... but LIFE HAPPENS. Stuff gets put on hold.  This was especially true for me.  The last four years have been life changing.  I got married, moved back to Omaha, built a house, and had a baby.  All the while I have been doing photography on the side of my full time job.  So needless to say, my life gets a little crazy sometimes and I say that in the best way.  I knew that it was time for me to go for it... and this is how it happened.

This past summer was focused on finishing our basement.  If you have ever taken on a project like this you know how hard it is to get anything else done.  My husband, dad, and many others worked for hours and hours to complete this massive project.  After all of the months of hard work, decision making, and painting (that was my primary job)....we have a "finished" basement.  Well it isn't totally finished yet, but at least I have an official photo studio!! YAY!!  I have some small projects left to complete within the studio. But I have already started to utilize it and it is amazing to have on these cold winter days.

Next up was branding.  I found a company in Kansas City, Hello Big Idea, to help me refresh my brand.  They were amazing!  I love what they came up with and how they found something that feels like me and my style.  I have provided my Mood Board below.

AKP Mood Board

Once I had all of that in place, then came the website.  So I have attempted to do a number of different kinds of websites in the past.  I am NOT a programmer, nor am I the most techie person around.  But I have done my research and decided to give Squarespace a try. It was way easier than I expected and I figured out how to bring this template into my vision for the brand.

So this is my big website reveal! Hope you enjoy it!  I appreciate all of my clients and friends! Let me know if you need anything and I am excited for what Adrienne Kay Photography will do in 2017!!!
